02 Focus SVT - track car project

It’s time to pull the plug on my track car project. Hopefully someone else can benefit from my efforts and finish what I started.

I bought this car barely running as a project car to turn into a track car. Since acquiring this car I have added and replaced much. I have a full build thread with tons of pictures and details http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=192254

Here is a list of what I have done and parts I have purchased and replaced;

Replaced the motor with '03 58K junk yard motor.
New (not rebuilt) starter
New (not rebuilt) alternator
New water pump
New CFM underdrive pulley and belt
New gates timing belt and pulleys.
New CM stage 3 clutch with aluminum flywheel
New Ford slave cylinder
Used Torsen differential installed
New Steeda driver side engine mount
Powder coated the valve cover
Replaced main wiring harness
Replaced steering rack
Battery relocation box installed in hatch

The car came with;

Steeda passenger engine mount
Short shift kit
Eibach sportline springs and KW dampers
Adjustable front camber plates
H&R front sway bar
Momo steering wheel
Rear Stress bar


Current state of the car;

The interior of the car is stripped. The dash, front door panels, front seats, and headliner are all that remains.
The stereo has been removed and an aluminum 3 gauge plate created.
Airbags have been removed.
Motor has been installed in the engine bay but only the motor mounts are connected at this time
Body and paint of the car are in very good shape


Known issues or work needed;

The car does not run at this time all plumbing, electrical and mechanical connections to the motor need to be made.
Passenger side axle inner CV boot needs to be replaced. I have the axle and it is in good shape otherwise.
Car came with no rear sway bar.


This is a great opportinity to take over a project with a lot of the work already done and money invested.
