I told him about the sketchy filter quality. i had the same type and never got a check engine light from the maf, it worked just fine for the money. I got black piping with blue connectors, made it look alot better in the engine bay IMO. people were impressed, almost could have been factory! lol

yes it drops the rpms right at peak tq, trust me I've done numerous runs, this is where my car likes it if I want to make any decent time.

the svt snorkal and airbox would run me alot more then 39$

Stay away from cheap intakes, all I have is a cone filter on the end of mine and it's been doing fine, your stock one will be alright but there are a few ponies to be had in an intake. Just look around and you will see deals in the buy/sell sections for a name brand intake. I did buy a cheap intake just like that, and while they do work they are not ideal. The elbows on the intake is not a smooth or big on the 90* elbow. At least that's how all the ones I've seen have been. Under hood temps will be lower with the header wrapped for sure, as I ran like that till just recently.

i'd rather make my own intake from some PVC, and paint it black like a JLT intake for the mustangs, those are supposed to be the best for those cars so i dont see why they arnt on a focus what size and where did you get the cone filter from? I may try to rig something up tomarrow

Just get a cone to stick on the end of the MAF tube. You need a cone with a 3" ID.

Exclamation New best

So I went to HRP last night and only got 1 run in due to them closing the track early because of water building up on the track from 93% humidity. I figure since I only had 1 run I better make the best of it lol, so I ran a 16.1@85 with 2.49 60ft, I cut half a second off and gained 2 mph since last time and all I did was fix an exhaust leak from cat to flex, wrapped my SVT header, changed trans fluid and put lowering springs on I also raised rev limiter to 6800 and stayed in 3rd down the track. I still have a bad 02 sensor and stock intake with K&n if that makes any difference, Im sure i can get a little more out of the car if I had an ORP and fixed those other 2 things.

^^I never been to sealy, but I sure don't want to go to the 1/8th mi track up north If forget the name of it, but we had a meet and race at it before. It was super slick where at HRP I hook and book mostly. I've been meaning to get down to sealy especially since it's closer to me than HRP.

well In my mustang GT i ran literly half a second faster with no changes being made in the car with near same temps, 12.6@112 at sealy and 13.1@111 at HRP. We should meet up sometime, I live in SW houston also, I go to car meets on wed and sat usually.
