transmission drain plug

Does anyone know the parts number for the plug/bolt that you undo to drain the transmission? I've called the dealership and they don't seem to know what I am talking about. I stripped the hex part of it by accident undoing and need a new one.

I wasn't aware of a plug to drain the tranny. I did buy a new tranny pan for mine, along with a B&M drain plug. The pan was $22 from the dealer and the B&M plug was $11 from Summit Racing. The plug (and gasket) fastens like a bolt to the pan. I drilled a hole in mine, cut down the threaded part of the plug so it wouldn't stick up too far on the inside of the pan, and had it welded to the pan. Works great! BUT, mine is an ATX-I suspect yours is a manual.

^^^Um...this is the SVT area, and as such we're not talking about an automatic transmission drain pan...

This is the plug he's looking for:

dracostheblack;
Try giving Steve Powell (Tousley Ford) a call. (800)328-9552
If there is a part available from Ford, he's the person that would know how to get it.

Unfortunately, there're not a lot of separate parts available for our Getrag at all, so I do wish you the best of luck in finding one.

Yeah, but if he can just get the thread pitch, he can buy an allen bolt from Fastenal. It's going to be metric. I'm thinkin M10x1.5 or M12x1.5.

And yeah, I always think it's funny when people post in the SVT section when they're not even sure about all the workings of an SVT...
