If I was autocrossing and someone passed me and caused me to total my car, I think I'd be looking at a way to get my car paid for...I think that goes way beyond ignorance.

that is one of the problems...
also...one of the rules say that in case of an accident they would rise a red flag and all competitors should have stoped...

guess what?
they didnt...they just rised a yelow flag and kept runnig

Definitely not autoX. Has to have been a road race.
We had a SVT Contour roll at one of our AutoXs run at a local Kart track. He was just bound and determined to take that last turn flat-out... It was hard to even tell how he did it, but I guess his FR wheel hit the curb he was trying to cut right when he was getting light from an elevation change...

Yes, definately road racing at a dedicated track. Not street racing, but organized road racing.
