I'm not against the idea of hooking up with a group of people in certain situations, but I really think the less people, the better. I would loot a gun shop or a mall, but I would never make any such place my home or shelter as it just invites attention. You'll end up spending more time and ammo protecting it from gangs, other looters and survivors than you would from the undead.

You do miss out on the potential skill sets that groups of people can have though (never know when an engineer or nurse will come in handy). I think having the ability to be more stealthy, having greater flexibility/freedom of movement and the greater likelihood of being seen by hostile groups as not being a threat carries more pros than cons.

The island could work, but it needs to be large enough that you could sustain yourself without having to constantly venture out for supplies. zombies can't swim, but a few will probably float and end up being washed ashore. They also don't need to breathe and that means it's possible for them to walk underwater, though I would like to think they wouldn't get very far.

All valid points, but think about if the zombies walked under water and then were eaten by a shark which in turn becomes even deadlier and more vicious . I think the group would be better for all the skill that it can have (nurses, engineers, etc.) Of course it would need some sort of organization. We didn't take over the world one human at a time. It took lots of humans making more humans in large groups and giving the ability to make a society. If you have a small group or your self, there is not much in the way of survival for the species of man as a whole.

Oh and who would want to live in a mall not me, any place known to have stuff would be a target for who knows what.

There would be different stages of recovery. The first is just survival, then we'll adapt to the new world and then as a group rebuild. I'd rather lay low during the survival part and rejoin society as it rebuilds.

Sad that there is only 1 more episode and the next season does not start until October 2011.

^^Wow, really? That totally blows. I guess AMC figures we're willing to wait (I am), but that is taking a big risk that 5 million people will come back to watch the series in almost 11 months.
