No, You know where the oil separator is on the front of the motor right. You have the hole caped and a steel braided line running from the center of it to......?

This is mine on my Zetec that im re-building, it's the rectangle black thing with the black line running off the corner of it.

The oil line runs from where the oil seporator used to be to the catch can, Does it just stay in the catch can or does it run somewhere else after it runs into the catch can?

Or to make things simple could this set up be done on a stock Zetec 2.0l?

Ok you see here is this pic you got that metal braided line running from the block in the center there,


To the catch can, after the catch can where does the other line running out of the catch can run to?

So there is the line from the PCV plate going to the catch can and then the other line comes from the valve cover breather. That's the way I assume he has it plumbed. Notice he has a petcock for draining it when it's full. He doesn't want any of the oil going back into the motor. So that means the catch can is the last place the oil goes. Also, you could easily do this on a stock 2.0L. You might need a custom tune to account for the valve cover breather air not being recirculated, though.

Ok so from the pvc plate to the catch can, to the cam cover, and that petcock pipe is just there for draining.

But if the oil is stopping in the catch can, does that mean he has to add oil every time it fills and he drains it? And what would be the point of the other line running to the cam cover, When I though that was so that the case could vent out, and go into the intake for oil to get in there?


Does my question make sense or no?

Yes, he would have to add oil to his car accordingly. Some people let the oil drain back into the block, but it usually has a tiny bit of fuel in it, which is not good for lubrication.

The valve cover breather IS a vent. I didn't say the oil from the PCV went into the valve cover. I said the oil from the PCV and valve cover stops in the catch can. That's why he has two filters on there. Lets excess fumes and pressure out of the catch can.

Ah ok, and is there some gauge in the car that tells you how much is in the catch can. Or when the cars motor is running low there is a gauge to tell?

I would love to have this set up, and get rid of that stupid oil separator thing. About how much does this run? And rep point is coming for taking your time to tell me more on this persons up-grade.
