My poor car

Well, some how a hole got put in my oil filter and I didn't know. My oil light NEVER came on and considering i'm outside at night mostly, I never saw the oil splotch where my car sat.

Went to go start my car and heard clank clank clank clank clank.

Took it to the shop and they said I need a new engine =(

Luckily it may have something to do w/ the accident I got in a month or so ago and the shop may be able to file it under that claim and get it fixed...

Anyways guys. wish me luck.. I really need it,

That was going to be my next try at something. But iw as talkin to my dad abt it, he said since it would be filed under a form of neglect for letting the oil run out that it may have voided the warranty.

I doubt the warranty will cover a hole in the oil filter, and how does a hole get in a oil filter? Hey if the car gods smile on you along with the money gods maybe you could get a 2.3l block and head and bolt everything off your old motor onto it? That sucks and the oil light should come on if the psi gets below a certain level. Maybe you could complain to ford since there oil pressure light never went off? Good luck with what ever you do I think you'll need it.

That sucks! There is a remote possibility that because the oil light never came on(can be proven or dis-proven by downloading Your black box data) that it may be covered by a manufacturer defect warranty. It looks like it will be an uphill fight, but hopefully it's a short hill.

It may also be possible to file a claim with the oil filter manufacturer.

Eww, had the same thing happen to my old taurus, only replace "small hole" with explode! Luckily at the time I didn't need a new engine but only replace the filter and get a LOT of cleaning done. Caused the fan to sieze up too, it's fun to see smoke under your hood. >_<

GL with the claim hope everything goes well.
