Hatchback Power Window Switch Problem

ALright, I don;t know if any of you had this problem but my passanger window switch does not work. My switch works, but when I press ON MY SIDE the switch for the window on the passanger side, it goes sometimes, and sometimes it doesnt. The switch that the passanger door has however, works........ I opened the whoel switch, and took of the switch casing...... the switvch clicks, but just doesnt go down. I scratched a bit the surface where the metal makes contact, just so it cleans up....., closed the casing, put the switch back in and it worked for a bit, but now again, I'm having trouble. I cannot really figure out what the problem can be. The thing is that when I casing is off, and the whole switch is expossed, I use a screwdriver on the metal to press the switch, and it works fine.....so Now, Im totally clueless...... Any ideas? Ford Wants to charge me about $50.00 for that dumb hatchback switch...... Thanks!

first check the wire harness the swich plugs into make sure the contacts are conecting properly. If that fails check the local junk yards to see if they have any swiches they will be far less than the $50 that the dealer will charge.
