well, there are alot of high mileage foci on the market right now. most of them stock and at the same price, so you've got some competition. I just sold one with 54k original miles and i only got 4k for it.

it was great. small rock-knicks in hood, but not bad at all for a 01. I even had a lady saying all she would give me was 3600. They just arent worth much...regardless of how much.

So far I can't even sell my 01 (120k miles) for $3000. Only one person even came over to look at it (offering $2500) and he came via an AutoTrader ad I placed and paid for. I got no one from this site or Craigslist. I had one person who contacted me but then changed her mind, saying she found an 05 with 76k miles for $4200.

So you'll have to drastically lower your asking price and you may want to place an ad on cars.com and/or autotrader. Seems like the only people who use this forum are looking for SVTs.

When you sell your car on your own, the cheapskates and lowballers come out and haggle. They expect to get it a lot cheaper than at dealer.

Man, that sucks. I had a guy come look at it when I was asking $4500 (was just trying to see if I could get lucky, lol.) and he came with the cash, test drove it and loved it, then backed out last minute because I've never replaced the timing belt. Because it's never given me problems. I think the previous owner did cuz the belt looks awesome, but I don't have a receipt to prove it. I was waaay bummed out.

Yeah, I've noticed. And dealers around here are selling 2001 Zx3's with 110k-120k miles, in worse body condition for $5k-$6k. It's like damn, and I can't even pull $3995? I had a dealer offer to give me $3100 for a trade in, but I don't have the extra $750 I'd need to buy this Police Interceptor that he has, that I want. Lol.


My car Kbb's at $2600 in excellent condition, which is ridiculous. Since my girlfriend has a 98 Plymouth Neon in horrible condition, that still Kbb's at $1635 in Fair condition. Like..really? That piece of crap is worth more than half of my Focus, that is in Excellent condition?

KBB needs to GTFO sometimes..

Not to mention, in the last month, they've lowered, then raised, then lowered the price again on my car. That site is becoming more and more unreliable. But it screws people trying to sell cars, because the people that use it, think it's the end all, be all of car buying. And it's really not. There's a lot of factors Kbb doesn't take into account. Like the fact that my car was a Cali car until 07, and is now being sold in Wisconsin, where EVERY car has rust, somewhere..and my car barely even has any on the frame. Absolutely zero on the body. Not even a single spot of bubbling or peeling paint.
