When you do upgrade look into the TKO600, had good luck with those myself. Absolutely indestructible.
The t-5 in our 83 mustang GT is ORIGINAL! Other than new input shaft seal a year ago and new fluid, NOTHING has been touched! Tows a 22' boat too. Its taken years of towing the boat and me and my brother learning stick/our first car. 230k and counting.

pretty damned respectable! I think with the dual exhaust upgrade and idle-4k rpm cam, itd be luck to have 200 whp with our current setup. enough tq to change the rotational speed of the earth though lol

I think so! I do know, if i put a set of heads on this setup, I'd be around 475/480 at the tires, but my shortblock wouldn't like that very long lol

Here's how she sits now:

New Gears coming today, rebuilding rear-end as bulletproof on Saturday, welding torque boxes sunday, and reinstalling

1 of 2 options im deciding on, 347, OR 408 built for boost... not quite sure yet.

I was running 3.55's, but since I'm building the rear, im stepping up to a 3.73 to get some more low end out of it. (stock gear for the car was a 2.73)

2.73s ouch. lol guess the vortech and stock heads made enough torque (i see 412wtq). No replacement for displacement but when it comes to it, its hard to say. im in the same situation as you only that my stang isnt done. have a heads, cam mildly built 302(306) and a 72 351 block ready to be played with. dont know where ill end up. its all too confusing lol... but anyways how long till you think your cars back together?

I'll be disassembling/reassembling the rear this Saturday, then sunday welding up the torque boxes, and hoping to have enough time to get rear end back in car. If not this weekend, definitely next weekend it will be up and running. Possibly going to take it a Track rental in Nov. My hope is to be able to run NMRA next season at the local tracks.

99% back together. just have to tighten everything down under load, install new brakes, bleed brakes, and fill with fluid.

31 Spline Moser axles, Moser girdled cover, 03/04 Cobra Differential, welded axle tubes, welded and reinforced torque boxes. should help with the 60fts, shooting for 1.6's
