If you study driving technique, this helps you maximize your "traction circle", and perfecting transition from brake, turn, accel. You get more info and analysis tools from the software package that comes with the traqmate kit, so you can see where you are weak / strong and methodically improve your driving and/or car set-up. That progressive shift light is new this year, and is a great driving aid. You set it up so the first light comes on about the same revs where your power band is, then set max revs. Not only does it tell you where to shift, you immediately understand if you are in the correct gear to power out of a turn. I think it was a great investment. About $175 installs with 3 wires and sticky tape! Eventually you run out of mods to make on a car that will improve lap times more than working on driving/racing skills and strategy. Notice I had the traqmate last year before I started the big motor build. Most of 2011 is going to focus on my driving skills and spend $$ on track time versus vehicle mods.

wow. that video makes me want to get back on the track so bad. omg.
sucks about the electrical issues, but it looks like something simple. You were dominating those miatas pretty bad. haha Having that extra power must be nice. couple questions. 1. what tires are you running? brand, model, size, etc. 2. is that the sparco 383 steering wheel? 3. have you weighed your car w/you in it? if so, what's the weight? 4. wanna trade foci? Yours is already done and I can't wait for mine to be. haha sick ride man. In the words of Joe Dirt "Keep on keepin on."

Hankook Ventus Z214 Medium Compound (C51) 225/45/15 Steering wheel is MoMo Mod78, you can see good pics of it in my "Some pics of Race Car" thread in the Focus Showroom. My weight at Watkins Glen this year, after pulling out the heater box etc with me and only a few gals in the tank was ~2580. I need to get sub 2500, and think my min weight is something like 2430. I'm not ready to give up the Fofo yet. Somewhere down the road I'm probably going to be in some sort of RWD race car. Preferably an open wheel car like Formula Ford, or maybe a Spec Racer Ford, which is a trasverse 4 cyl mid engine single seater with closed body that resembles a CAN-AM racer from the 70's or the prototype cars in the current ALMS series. I think the Focus is a good entry level race car to learn the skills needed to move onto more advanced vehicles. For now this car offers plenty of room for me to learn and grow as a driver.
