timing marks and sprocket alignment

ok guys I am guessing the timing mark is the lil circle on the cylinder head...what part of the sprocket/gear do i align that with?

there are no timing marks to go by for the zetec. you have to either have the alignment bar that you stick in the cams and the screw that goes into the block and stops the crank from turning when it hits top dead center. or you can do the old screwdriver in the spark plug hole trick to get the bottom end in top dead center and then adjust both cams (with the valve cover off) so that the first lobes on the passenger side of the engine bay are facing away from each other. this will have the top end on top dead center around about. this method isnt nearly as exact as the timing kit but it will be close enough to get the car running decent. i may have a picture of how you need to have the cams pointing. ill post it if i find it.

edit: scratch that. i cant find one that is worth posting.
