I've gotta do mine. The shop quoted labor as between $3-500!!!!!

If anyone is going to do it DIY like me, I found this in another thread

My dad and me are scared as hell to do this though. Can't afford to replace my heads now.

I had a shop replace the timing belt, serpentine belt, waterpump, all tensioners, inspection, and had them install a UDP while they were at it. Was around $418 total I think. I was too scared to try it myself also.

I just purchased a Comp O SVTF with 101K miles on it. The previous owner had no idea if the timing belt had ever been changed. The serpentine belt looks new and the pulleys look new. I am new to this motor but is there a way that I can inspect the car to see if it has been changed or not? The car is perfect right now and I want to get a lot of mileage out of it, but don't want to change the TB if it was done 10K miles ago and would be unnecessary.

If your unsure of when it was done then you should probably have it done. Better to do it and know it's been done than to take the chance and have it fail.

I just changed mine a couple of days before FocusFest. Had about 95k mi on it, would have been done sooner but I been busy working on other peoples cars and fixing other problems on mine.
