When I re-torqued I only went to 65 once. So, am I hearing that the Ford gasket is more preferred over the cometic gasket?
Tom, how would my tune cause a HG leak? AFR= 10.5:1 to 11:1 My engine C/R= 8.5:1 Spark around 1.5 load = 12* Sometimes Knock sensor pulls timing around 4K (then total spark is < 10*) |

As you will see after you tq it one time and do it 3-4 more you will see them move each time , you need to do it till you dont see them move any more
The Ford and Cometic ar basicly the same gasket the Ford is cheaper Tom

There is actually a reason why I probably cannot use the stock Ford gasket. My Wiseco pistons stick out past the deck by 0.015", and for that reason I am using a thicker than stock head gasket.
Is there any chance my Cometic MLS gasket is reuseable? |

I used the Eagle rods. They only make one model for the Zetec, right?
I didn't think it was a good idea to reuse the gasket, but I though I read somewhere that cometics are reusable. |

Why are your pistons come out of the block , that is odd , No I wouldnt reuse any HG they just dont cost enough worth having issues

I guess I'll go ahead and resurrect this thread since I'm just now getting around to doing the head gasket. I'm wondering which gasket to buy. I didn't realize the standard SVT gasket thickness is .041". I had a cometic .040" gasket.
So, can I use the SVT head gasket on a Zetec? I thought I read that there are some differences in the holes. |
