Yeah, thats news flash for right now. It's funny how things can change with time and if the ST sells well you might find that people's minds begin to change on the RS as well. Whether it happens or not, it gives Ford the option.

Yeah thats kinda a weak explanation of AWD though. FWD comes no where close to competing with AWD unless you have 220- hp. The new AWD systems on the STIs and EVOs are able to change where the power goes to preventing understeer. There are few times you run over 120 on a track anyway unless you have something that has over 400hp. FWD Is a HUGE disadvantage over anything but single wheel drive. If your a crappy driver your better off with AWD then FWD. Your going to end up burning up your tires trying to the wheel and ending up with MASSIVE understeer like most novice do on the autox course.

@ TBones ^ True.... but people here tend to forget that the Focus is getting a tad bit larger that basically bumps it up in class somewhat. 30k for a car this well refined is well worth it IMHO. If you don't like it, there's always a KIA dealer down the road. Just sayin'.

VW Golf GTI 2.0 L 210 hp in Croatia costs 29200 euros
VW Golf GTI 2.0 L 210 hp in USA costs 24000 US dollars

Mazda 3 MPS 2.3 L 260 hp in Croatia costs 338000 euros
Mazda 3 MPS 2.3 L 260 hp in USA costs 24000 US dollars

So I think new Focus ST will cost in Croatia around 32000 euros
and in USA around 27000 US dollars!

This is on a track, but in the real world, a FWD car does a lot better than most people think. Anyone remember the RS vs GTR test?

With my SVT last year at the Lake Superior Rally, I paced S4s, STis, Evos, and no one could leave me on the tricky roads of the Keweenaw Peninsula in Michigan, and I was running a basically stock motor.
