Damn spammers. I watch this thread like a hawk, and get excited when there's a new post.

Anyway, talked to a dealer yesterday. He said that because it was a 2013 model, he didn't expect it until August.
I guess he didn't hear that Ford has said that the ST will "be released in early 2012".

Also, he said that he thinks they'll be limited to the number that they can order. Expect to pay a bit of a premium to get this, because it's going to be hard to get a deal when they can just go to the next person interested in the ST.

A friend of mine that is a Ford salesman basically said the same thing.
Might not be asking $10G over sticker like they do with the limited Mustangs but I am thinking possible $5G over. Yet another reason it is slowly getting out of my reach.

Or wait 6 months and buy one for invoice. These aren't Shelbys, they are still a Focus.

Only a fool would pay a premium for one of these.

The Focus ST in testing (but mostly Jost talking about it).

Just saw this... does that look like a paddle for shifting?

Haha I was just about to point this out. I seem to recall Ford saying that the ST would be manual only?? So now I'm lead to believe that Europeans will get a PowerShift option and we won't. Bad, FoMoCo of America!! Bad dog!!

At the very least they could replace the current SelectShift system with these paddle shifters!

I would prefer the manual, but it would be pretty cool if Ford would start putting paddle shifters in the Focus.

I am fairly sure it is just the cruise control and audio controls. Look at their location and size on this picture, seems like the same thing.

That looks like an awkward spot for a paddle for shifting. That's the left hand side of the steering wheel, wouldn't the paddle be right there by your fingers so you could shift, instead of way under the spoke of the steering wheel like that?

Could be controls for cruise or Sync.
