The other thing you have to think about is the Mustang, we know ford won't let the Focus step on the toes of the Mustang. The base Mustang starts at 22k and the GT starts at 29K. I don't think the cars are at all "competition" of one another but if the price gets to high they will price themselves out of the market.

I seriously hope the base model ST (granted base may be pretty loaded) is not over 25k. I am one of those people that is still kind of stuck in 2002 new car pricing (svtf fully loaded for 18-19k). Still though... If the ST starts at 27 or 28k I will most likely be looking elsewhere.

My friend had a 2010 GTI spec'd out with everything but nav and the sticker was 32k. Was a nice car, but not 32k Nice! She now has a 2010 MS3 base model with tech package (sticker 26 but got it as a new leftover for 22k)

I personally am stuck between the mustangs, a wrx and potentially the new ST but only if its not overly priced. I Feel a base model mustang 5.0 is a fair price at 28-29k. I think the v6 is an even better deals starting at 23k for that nice combo of HP & mpg... Lets hope ford impresses us in every aspect!
I hear you, and prices have risen a little but at the same time, you have to realize that this is going to be more of a car than the SVT fOCUS, at least from how I see it. The current SER Spec V's are in our class, the new ST Focus is more like the GTI.

honestly, if an ST is $27k, and a 5.0 GT is $29k.....um, Yeah mustang all the way.
yea im hoping its around 25k myself or there might be a grabber blue gt sitting next to my shelby gt-500 instead of the ST. I fear they will be over whatever the sticker is anyway because of what they are.

What rumors has everyone been hearing on the release date for the ST? I talked to a couple of different dealers yesterday and they are saying anywhere from November this year to spring/summer next year as a 2013. The longer I have to wait the more pissed off I am at Ford for delaying the ST. It looks like my SVT may turn 9 before the ST comes out...

I think its been listed as a 2012 so I cant imagine they will put it off until next summer. I don't think there has been an exact date released yet.

Posted via FF Mobile They not delaying anything. They said it was going to come out in 2012. The 2012 Focus debuted in January of 2010 and is just coming to dealers now. Dont be pissed, take it as more time to spend with your svt and more time to save.
