That is great to hear. I figured they would have to or miss a lot of sales. The auto/manual option works good enough for me, and I am sure others feel the same.

I agree after years driving stick Civic 5 speed I too would like to see the dual-clutch six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission come out this year on the ST. Vids I've seen on the Fiesta look to be pretty sweet shifting at peak powerband allowing both economy and performance when required....could only imagine would be super fun mated to the 2.0 liter turbo on the ST !! You'd think Ford could have worked the bugs by now on their automatic.

I'm still very curious about the Tangerine Scream paint.
Some pictures make it look very yellow.

Others make it look very orange.

I'd much prefer orange over yellow and think they had it down perfect with the first gen ST.

I'm on the fence about the transmission. As an "old, tired and worn out" left over rocker . . . I harken back to those halcyon days with the manual.

On the other hand . . . ever since Porsche arrived on the scene with the PDK . . the paradigm has been changed. No longer does the fun of a manual transmission require . . . er, a "manual" transmission.

I bought the Focus Titanium and the Focus SEL as "spare" daily drivers. Our cars in NYC were not only costing a fortune (it's an extra $100 per month for "upscale" cars) it was painful to go to the garage and find the new E-Cab with a ding in the bumper. I just didn't know the Focii were going to be so damn fun!

I've got a "get me the first one you can get your hands on" call out to 2 dealers, one in NYC and the other in KS. I'll have to wait and see. My thoughts now are that if I have the manual for a while and tire of it . . it should be easy to sell.

Kudos to Ford for doing this.

It was nice, yesterday, to hear that Ford sales were up by 14% in February on the sales of the Focus. All other Ford models were off and the same day GM announced it is suspending production of the Volt and laying off the 1,300 folks who make them.

That is what happened to me. I was looking for a higher MPG car than my '09 G8 GT 6.0L Pontiac. Up in the canyon not far from here, I think the Focus is funner than the G8 in the tight stuff. I think the ST would be perfect with the DCT, plenty of power if you want it, decent mileage if you can keep your foot out of the turbo.

I dont think st comes out with an automatic, mazdaspeed and Wrx only comes with manual , if the ST comes with automatic then i think it would be a fair deal if they offered manual with fusion 2.0 turbo

You may have missed this one page back....

I read it in a magazine. They met with the ST team, went for a drive, and got plenty of details. Including a September release date of the manual version. They're not sure how much longer the auto will take though.
I just hope MacAttack is right. Not that I am questioning his info.
