Circe, I first considered it because of how good your car looked.

Next Im thinking either some aftermarket fog lights or a lowering kit.
I Just saw this post! thanks man! yours is looking pretty sweet with it!

Two coats of metalizer over black I'm assuming? I wonder how it would look with a base of white plastidip an two lightcoats of metalizer.

Yes this was with black as the base coat. If you put too many coats of metalizer it turns into a bright silver color. In this pic the front wheel has one more light coat than the back wheel. I redid them after this because I wanted a darker color.

i did it myself. i repaired the wheels from curb rash and painted them all for under $60. do a good job the first time and it will be worth it. very easy to do over the course of a weekend just take the time to prep everything.

I'm assuming you used a paint gun? And what paint do you use?

nope i used duplicolor spray paint and clear coat. take you time in prep work and cleaning and you'll be good to go. let the paint cure for a few days before you put any kind of wax on the wheels though. i've gotten a lot of compliments on them and i truly believe its because i took my time doing them and didn't rush.

Yea for sure I would take my time on them. Did you do them with the tires off or just cover them up real good? I found a helpful tutorial online on how to fix the curb rash. The previous owner had a little bit on them here and there.

I love keeping this thread alive. Not many of us MK2 guys on here anymore.

i did them off because thats how i got them but you can do them with the tires on you just need some notecards to stick between the tire and wheel.
