Ranger build thread.

Rather than cluttering up the hatch nation thread with my ranger, I'll toss everything here.

Those of you who wish to follow can! And those of you sick of seeing my truck in the hatch nation thread, sorry! Lol.

So I'll just cover the basics of its past.

Bought in 2012 of February with 70k miles. Drove it stock for a while.

Ripped off the steps, and grille bug thing shortly after, did some axillary lighting. Minor mods, etc.

Threw 32" tires on it when I wore out the stock sized 31's

After that I think the biggest mod was body lift and 33" tires.

Had some hail damage fixed and had it custom painted at that point.

And that brings me to the current state.

Swapping out the ranger leaf springs for some longer Chevy leaf springs.

Increases wheel travel and articulation.

Progress is slow but steady. Ranger leafs are all out. Currently have to move spring hangers forward, then bolt on the Chevy leafs.

After that I am now planning a solid axle swap for up front. Will be getting rid of the IFS in favor of a solid axle. Getting a Dana 30 and will be running 35's.

Should sit like this when its all said and done. But the sexier 06+ body style ;)

Indeed!

No idea when I will start the SAS. Lots of research before that happens.

Will slowly build the d30 up to be strong enough for 35's. Chromoly axles, larger u joints, truss it, maybe sleeve it. Will do that when funds allow. Thinking 4.88 gears, locker out back and probably open front.

You should do an air locker or some sort of locker up front as well, that way you can choose when you want it locked. Not really 4wd with a open front diff, really 3wd lol

Yeah, pricey, and pushing the limits with a locker in a d30 on 35's lol.

So I'll leave it open. Will be good enough for what I do. Hell what I have now is good enough for what I do.

When I starting actually wheeling it I'll lock it, till I blow it up. Then toss in a d44.

I wish I could have kept my ranger as a toy, but unfortunately I can't afford two cars right now. Subscribed!

Can't wait for more updates, I've been trying to find myself a ranger for winter.

Great winter rigs. Love mine in the snow.

Should have updates tonight.

Got the difficult hanger off today. Killed my hand holding a wrench on the bolt heads.

Not much room between the tank and frame to get in there!

Grind the other side off tomorrow, then drill holes and bolt it all on.

Nice Build thread, moved it to the Builds & Showroom section to get you more looks. it isn't the only non-focus Build thread so it'll be right at home.

Cheers
