Heh, before I knew what I was doing, i was using those same drag radials, but at like 20-23 psi (no one told me to go lower, i know better now), and still cutting 2.0 60foots with a cheap centerforce clutch and stock open diff.

1.8xx 60fts are very do-able.

In my last focus i got 2.0 60's all the time with a stock clutch and a phantom grip and the drag radials at 17psi, but i notice the top end the tires flop around. but I would run 14.4's all day long

I currently am running a Excedy clutch, 4.06 gears, Torsen LSD. I've only had this car at the track twice, stil learning it

ok ive always been weirded out by it but now i want to ask. is there ANYONE else out there who has gotten 2.0 second 60 ft times on street tires on 7.5 inch wide street tires at 45psi? i never let pressure out of the rim tires at the track and while the heavy ass rims kill me on the big end they always got me out of the hole damn good. surely there is someone else who has gotten that consistently?

45psi? No. I've certainly cut 2.0 60' times on street tires though.
A lot of that depends on the track prep and also track conditions.
There are freak tracks that are VERY well maintained and also at sea level that will yield amazing 60' times, ET, and mph.
I knew a guy that would cut 1.85 60' times on street tires at his track with his '03 Mach 1, but certainly not at my local track!
My track is at 1250' and a 2.0 60' is great on street tires for a RWD.

ok was just curious. its always kind of been strange for me to hear about guys going to the track and doing everything they possibly can to get out of the hole better and the best they can do is 2.2-2.3 on wider than factory tires. i forgot to mention that i did the 2.0 before i got LSD. ive not been to the track with my 18x7.5's on the front since i got tom to put the transmission together nearly 2 years ago. 2 reasons for this. i can make up the time i loose out of the hole on the big end with the lighter factory wheels and tires. the 18s really slow it down badly. and also tires are ALOT cheaper for the 15s so i dont feel so bad about making a little smoke show every time i go through the water box even though i dont have to.

Idk if my track is preped well or what. But i ran my BFG's at 32 psi (no joke) i would do 2nd gear burnouts thru the water.
Slipped my clutch around 3k while holding the ebrake then drop it all on the last amber. I dyno'd 244hp 265tq and i was hitting consistant 2.0 60s. with almost no wheel spin. For some reason 32psi was working great and i didnt have to add air for the drive home lol.

2.0 does not seem good to me for a racing compound tire, even on a FWD.
I know I'm used to RWD drag racing, but the difference between a 1.85 60' that I want and 2.0 is huge.
I guess when I hit the track on the 24th I'll find out.

you should be able to hit that time on BFG radials. brief hazing on 13-18psi, pre load the suspension by slipping the clutch and holding the e-brake and launch on the last yellow. you SHOULD be able to get your goal.
