2002 Focus ZX5, no alterations to the original suspension have been done.

Copied the below from a previous post, because it is exactly what I'm experiencing. I've done the "ball joint" test and have no movement or noise from either side. I've also checked the struts and they appear good, with no bouncing.

"I'm hearing a clunking noise coming from both sides (driver and passenger) of the front end when I drive. This mainly happens when I hit little bumps in the road and the noise gets louder when I hit slightly bigger bumps."

Any suggestions?

I want to continue this thread as well as I have a massive squeaking/ looseness sound in my front right side of my car. I have replaced the swaybar links, LCAs, Ball joints, full suspension including strut bearings... What else is there to check?? The noise sounds like its coming from around the floor of the passenger side

Front sway bar bushings are located thereabouts, and they will cause clunking when they are shot. Easy to inspect visually to confirm or deny.

are they pretty easy to replace? or would you have to remove the subframe?

This is the thread that I started when I had your problem. Geezer was a great help back a couple months ago too, even though he bashes the sportlines....lol (I use them too) But this is from start of problem to the solution/what ended up fixing it. Read through this(not very long) and maybe it will help you out....maybe....

I had a clunking noise too, it turn's out that I didn't tight down the sway bar end link's tight enough. Do any know of anyone replacing the end link's w/ heim joint's or not?
