Holset turbos?

Question about holset turbos off of the cummins turbo diesels. What manifold are they designed to use like t4 or what. Whould they work for your focus turbo kit Tom. Would they work well. Dsm's use them for spool characteristics and a decent turbo map. They are used in 300 hp build to 700 hp builds in dsm's which are also 2 liter engines but have lower compression than the zetec. What you think?

Yes they are a t4 flange but think it would be one of the worst turbos you could use on a 2.0 engine , that turbo is made for a 855 cu in engine and to use it on a 112 cu in engine would spool about 7000 maybe

There are tons of better turbos out there

Tom

The holset turbos I'm talking about come off of the 5.9l on dodge ram trucks which are 360ci. They reach positive boost at about 2000rpm on a 2.0l

On a 2.0 or on a 2.0 Zetec , because it works ok on a 2.0 Mitsu or Nismo wont mean it will work well on a Zetec

It isnt I turbo I would think about trying

Tom

Almost any turbo will make positive pressure at 2000rpm.... but you really need to think about how long it takes to reach full boost on the 2.0...... they spool so fast on the cummings because you have 6 cylinders and 18:1 compression

Ok they work ok on mitsubishi but not a zetec. I wonder why that is cuz we have higher compression stock, but ok on the zetec I'm looking for a turbo to make pos pressure at 2k and full at about 4k what do you think would work for my zetec then power goals are only 230whp

an hx35 would have been a HUGE over kill for 230hp.
the compturbo that tom offers will be perfect for u. and u will have plenty of room to grow.

The comp turbo. What's it spool at? I'm also trying to maintain mpgs too so if I'm off the trottle I don't want gas to drop below 26 mpg hwy I know I need to get a compression test done but what else do I need to get this car turbo ready?

Got a question for ya Tom
I've brought the same turbo because it came with the rods and piston I wanted.

Turbo setting... 14-45psi, 500-650hp, 85mm opening... with waste gate it'll lower the psi
I think the spool will be 7-8rpm
For a street/ drag Focus
1st tune will be 4-500whp for the road, 2nd tune 600+whp for like dyno day, 3rd tune will be all out drag 700-1000whp.

Is this the type of turbo I need for my setup?
