NEW BEST of 14.5@96mph with NA D23

Went to the track the other day. It was a very bad day to decide to go to the track with average temps of ~90 degrees and 60% humidity but i did alright. My air filter has never been cleaned, and in general my car needs a tune up, stock 15" with crappy stock size tires and no differential. I'm fairly happy with the results, all things considered.

My best run was a 14.5 @ 96mph, 2.38 60-ft.

current mods are:

cosworth cai, crane stage 2 cams, supertech valve springs, cosworth header, cosworth flex, 2.5" borla exhaust, massive bsd, massive oil pan baffle, cfm rear mount, steeda sts, exedy stage 1 clutch, exedy stage 1 flywheel, st trans swap for 3.82 gear ratio, FSWerks 93oct tune (tuned before cams/clutch/trans, never retuned), and eibach coilovers.

Dynoed ~180whp/169wtq before i installed the clutch or transmission with the same tune as above. I didn't have the money at the time for 4.06 gears or a diff but i think an engagement ring for my fiance was a much better purchase :)

u should really get a retune, you should be in the low 14's or possibly high 13's with all that and 180+whp

Considering it was 90 degrees outside when I made these runs, I know I'll be able to bring that time down to a low 14 with cooler air and better tires. You're right though I do need a retune. I really doubt I'll hit a 13 though. Egz ran a 13.9 in his race car

This Zetec guy bows down to you sir

I wish I could run a time like that N/A

Any ways that's a pretty good time and nice numbers also. That's something a n/a zetec only dreams of . You got a decent 60 ft time IMO. I can't get past 2.3's any better and she's hopping and I don't want that. I'm already on my second trans. Blew the diff in the old one.

Nice run. I agree tho the re tune should help. That and tires will make a big difference.

Ran again this week on the Fittipaldi wheels with new 195/50 tires. I ran a best of 14.51@97mph again. I had some issues with the car barely running below 3k rpm for part of the time because of my broken tumble flaps.

I couldn't hit lower than a 2.35 60 foot... what are the chances i'll hit lower than that on skinny street tires with no diff? I know part of it is just me sucking at launching.

If i could get some better 60' times i would be getting some much better times. One run i hit a 2.6x 60' 14.8@ 98.75 lmao... I keep trapping between 97-99mph now consistently i just suck at launching. I'm really frustrated with myself.

Maybe some really low pressured street tires and launch her from 3500 or 4000

I need to go again since putting my new motor in, if you think your 60's suck you would have felt great seeing my SPI 60's.
