First time I ran my SVT, I had a kid in an SI talkin shit, so I blew the launch...ran a 16.4.

Turn around, kid in the SI still talkin shit, when he ran 15.3...I rolled up and pulled out 15.1 on a pretty hot day, whoopin his ass.

As far as feathering the clutch...dont. Hold at 3500 RPM, and DUMP your clutch...put the gas on the floor, powershifting at 6600ish RPM, you will see super low 15s all day long, and a high 14 if you shift well and track conditions are good.
You have always preached dropping the clutch but it doesnt seem anyone else has had any luck with that at all. I have tried it on numerous times and have found I just bog horrible. Does anyone else drop the clutch.

Hope you dont litereally mean "powershifting at 6600rpms"...yeah you might get super low 15's all night long, but dont expect too many drag races with that kind of abuse.

He probably means dumping the clutch if you have the TC switch installed...

I'm gonna give that a shot, we'll see how it goes...but I'm not gonna powershift...thanks, and I'll be keeping my shifts above 7000rpm....peak horsepower is at 7k if I'm not mistaken.

Ok, not to jack the thread but i ran a 16.5 BEST so far. I ran quite a bit too. All I have is a STS and TC Switch. Altitude was about 4000 feet. DO you think that it was a good run? 16.59 at 87 mph. shifting at about 7-7.1k Dropping the clutch at 4500. THe higher i launched the better times i was getting. My wheels would spin and then bog. But if i launched i enough they would spin catch and go without rpms dipping. What do you think? Can i get better?
