customizing a zx3, performance?

Okay I haven't been into the "regular" focus sceen to much but since Ford got my "lemon SVT Focus" back... I now am driving my zx3 that was parked for a year and a half...

As my sig says it's already got a body kit and looks pretty good...

Did some neons and look "interesting"

Now I'd like something to make it perform a little better.... IE: somewhere at least close to the SVTF power~!

So... I've been looking at parts....

1. Borla cat back
2. Diablo chip
3. AEM cold air

So which of these will make it perform best?

Anyone have these on their cars?

Thing that scares me about the Diablo is warrenty problems... and possible high octain gas (like the SVTF!)

I'm making a poll and ask that the 4th be "other" for you to add parts below in a reply.

Borla is a good place to start. I'd go with the Volant intake next.

if you do intake your have to do exhaust at some point in order to get the most benefit and HP gains out of it.

I voted CAI. Go with a good intake first, then move onto exhaust, header, and then get a tune. But don't do some stupid "performance chip" garbage. Get a real tune with a real tuning device like an XCal3 or a Predator. And I'd go with Tom for the tune.

to get to SVT performance, you're going to need ALOT more. intake, exhuast, tune, and cams. that will put you in the 140's for whp. after that, all you can do is a head or boost. i would suggest boost for you. if you want like 175 whp or so, you'll be faster than an SVT and have good reliability w/ a jrsc. or you will want nitrous. either way, there aint a cheap way about it!

Yeah, just buy MLB's Jackson Racing supercharger kit...but a XCAL3 and a tune from Tom and you're set. (To the tune of about $2k)
