Doing A burnout
So, ive been taking my 09 Coupe to the track the last few weeks, and ive always driven around the water box. Ive heard heating up street tires is seemingly pointless, but i'm still just looking for your opinions on wether or not to do it? And if so, whats the best way. I have an auto, so i was planning on just rolling the front wheels through the box, then pulling the e-brake and letting them spin? Any thoughts?

yes doing a burn out on street tires is pointless. it makes them gooie not sticky and thats what you want.. your best bet is to just drive around the water box.. now if you want to give em a quick spin to clean them off that wont hurt just don't do it in the water. lol and with an auto im not sure how you would do that.. if you used the ebrake that might work. if not your going to have to put the car in nutral and rev it up and slam it in to drive. but thats hard on the trans and not recomended.

When i ran street tires i would go around the wter and clean them. But like said above it may be hard to do with a auto. I would not neutral drop it lol.

I did not do a neutral bomb in my focus before but when I had a loaner Edge I did try and it does not engage until the rpms drop to around 2300-2500 then itll engage slowly. Ford neutralbomb proof'd it lol oh and yes doing a burnout on street tires totally f's them up. See my avatar? I did that and my rear tires got worn down a good 5mm or so from before and now its all gooey and all the sand n rocks and whatnot keep sticking to it
