favorite and most hated parts of basic training

Best: night-fire with m16/tracers when the DS's had us burn off all the leftover ammo.

Worst: getting my skull smashed and missing graduation because they were putting a titanium plate in my head.

Worst: PT, constant stress. lol

i hated being in basic with girls(Avation) not hating on the women in the military but it was just too much bs. we lost two drill srgnts to sexual harassment. and i thought it was way too easy. we had two pizza partys and pt in the pool every friday. i was in basic in 2006 btw.

What branch did you join? Everybody says Air Force is the easy branch but I don't remember pizza parties or pt in a pool (other than the greenish water in the obstacle course) during BMT.

2 yorks leeds rifles. did mine over 20 years ago. loved it every day 6mile run every morning. Got my 3mile run down to 14min 11sec, them we would get board and every wednesday 14mile run with 45lbs kit. the worst was 30miles over dartmoor. sorry but you lads over the pond want know dartmoor, peatbogs, hills and the rain monsoon every day

I thought Navy basic would be the easiest. My buddy in the navy said it was pretty easy. Im in the AF and we were always on our face and getting yelled at lol

now that built a "battlestations" compound, and having it in one spot, instead of having recruits run around the base for 13+ hours, and went away with one galley on the whole RTC base, and build them into each BEQ, alot of people say its "easier" due to lack of marching around, but they made up for it by having us march with our seabags for 3-4 hours every day ... around a ing pond. I almost went insane lol. .. but yeah, navy PT is kinda wimpy, they have a set regiment and as long as you can don't die on the first pt you have, they leave you alone, to a point. but it also depends on who the division is ran by lol

Not bad! Every branch has its highs and lows, but all for the same fight!
