yo jmiller, i went to basic at leonardwood too......in freakn july of 94...i was still 17 years old when i went, had my 18th birthday while in basic....damn brown recluse spiders were always on my mind, plus we had a tornado hit us about 1 am...we all had to go into the basement....where them damn spider were...sucked!....but yeah, the chemical chamber sucked for me, the dude in fornt of me puked his breakfast up right at the entry door...ill never forget that smell...or the way it burned ur skin....NEVER rub your eyes after exiting the chamber...big mistake.

....oh, ill also add the hand to hand combat and bayonet course to my favorites!

Oh ya on family day, the day before graduation we had two tornadoes touch down. I was freaking out because I'm from California. All we have to worry about is an earthquake every few years.

I celebrated My 18th in Kuwait, lol. I had plenty of Black Widows around as a kid, so I wasn't too bugged by the Recluse, it was more the snakes(none of those in Hawai'i, lol) and the weather{no snow, either).

Now that I think about it, I had a Marine Corps recruiting poster from the '70's with guys beating the piss out of each other with pugil sticks on my wall as a kid, and always wanted to use 'em. Good times, lol.

At the time basic sucked but looking back at it now it was probably the funnest 9 weeks. Then AIT was better shooting the MK-19
Yep that where i did mine at and we had to do the same thing^^ We had to stay a little longer because one guy was holding his breath and we couldnt go untill we all was breathing it in.
