Best part was definitely the Jambalaya MRE with cheese spread. I still crave that meal. Worst part of BCT was Jambalaya 12 hours later on the way out.

By far the best part was weapons training and grenade training just holding that little explosive knowing you could take out some shit just by thowing it was an adereline rush. Worst part definantly the ruck marches (FT Jackson middle of July) when you are from Washington state sucked ass.

I hated every part of basic training besides the "warrior week" section. Outside in tents sleeping on cots and learning NBC stuff and shooting targets was bad ass. When we went back the dorms after that week, I was miserable again. I think I should have joined the Army.

Favorite part of basic was the camaraderie with the other soldiers in my platoon.

Least favorite for me was probably the gas chamber.

First post....

Did COT at Maxwell AFB last summer bc I'm on the health professions scholarship. Not basic training, but a PITA nonetheless. 5 weeks of "Sir..." followed by many insults and punishments, runs at 4:30 AM, uniform inspections, etc. Worst thing was probably the AM field exercises followed by Death by Powerpoint in the Big Red Bed, in which we all smelled like ass and couldn't fall asleep w/out punishment.

i work in the BMT chapel at Lacklant AFB TX, so i see all the basic trainees nd go visit the different sites like the gas chamber, BEAST, pugle sticks or whatever its called. my favorite part is when they come crying in the chapel saying they cant do it, its not for them, blah blah blah. i see them 8 weeks later and they are in blues, introducing me to family members, so proud of themselves. its awesome
