Question Question regarding SVT Brake Swap

I have started a new thread because some of you may not be following my other thread. I have a issue regarding the e-brake cables. I have installed the cables and where they connect to the calipers there is I am guessing that there is supposed to be some sort of clip to keep them attached. There is a slot on the cable at the bracket in the caliper. I just went to East Court Ford and spoke with the parts dept. and they couldn't see said clip.

For those of you that have done the SVT brake swap what have you done to keep the cables attached? I am going to be taking the wheels off to replace the ABS sensors to see the that solves my other problem (ABS Light on the Dash). And while I am in there I wanted to securely mount the cables. I am not sure if Zip Ties would do the job or not.

Has anybody else had the same issue?

The cable slides through the hole in the bracket on the caliper. The lip on the blue sleeve sits on the bracket. Let me see if I can find a pic.

What do you do fi you don't have the Blue Sleeve? My replacement cables didn't come with them. Also the SVT rear clip did not have the parking brake cables attached. Uh Oh!?!?!

Yes, but not from Ford. Aftermarket stuff.

Here is a photo of the cable end.

Any one have a suggestion on how to correct this issue? I may just have to rig something up in the morning. Of all the things to have an issue with. The last thing I need to set up. FML. LOL

if you could post a picture of what you have I could help you out. My best recommendation is to take back what you have and get a real SVT cable.

Your best bet is to probably order a factory SVT e-brake cable from a Ford dealer like I had to. The correct part # is on the sheet in the link posted. It set me back about $70. I would order the right one and return the aftermarket one because the Factory cable has the correct ends along with the correct attachment points/small bolts to bolt it to the swing blade arm. Also on my cable I had to use my old junction that splits the e-brake handle cable into the two cables. The new one was different.

Dam, Dam, Dam.... I was hoping that there would be another soloution. It took me over an hour to get those cables in the car. Who knows how long it will take to get them out. Also who knows if they will give me a hard time when I try to return them to the Auto Parts Store. This sucks.
