Sorry it wont be of much help to you, but dealer finally fixed the problem with my ca's AC. It was really weak, never really cold, even on recirculation. I noticed that my AC switched on/off pretty frequently (not light, but the compressor uder the hood), however thought it was doing it becuase the AC didnt work by itself. Anyway, dealer outdone himself this time, they checked for leaks, didnt find any and proceeded to do "pin point test" of wiring, found that one switch was intermittent and cause frequent on/offs and didnt let the air to cool down, they changed wiring assemby- voila- AC iscold now, I am happy, all is fixed under warranty.

Maybe a bad clutch on the a/c compressor!? Is it like a squeek - thud? Could be a glazed or loose belt too...or a bad a/c pulley...

I put my $0.02 in..

Speaking of a/c, did you know our cars disengage the a/c on wide open throttle? Try it..blast the a/c then nail it and run through 2 gears...then feel the air..a minute later its cold again. I thought that was neat when I learned that...I said; "No wonder my car isnt laggy with the a/c on...right on!"
