for thoes who want to do this mod while its in the car all you have to do is remove the airbox and losin the pass side bolt and remove the drivers side bolt (as viewed from above) and the bracket will pivot enuf so you can rotate the black slider the 90* needed then just tightin up the pass bolt and put the drivers side bolt back in and put the airbox back in and its done it took me about 10-15 min to do it this way and if you have a cai it makes this a whole lot simpler

Wungun, did you happen to measure the diameter of the ID on that bush? Im looking to make up one out of an alternate material at work, but I cant pull it out and measure it first. I saw the sides were 8.9mm.

Not THAT simple...
How are you going to machine the 'cup' for the 'socket' on the tranny?
I'm planning on drilling out the socket nub and using nut/bolt/washer thru the hole with a bushing around the bolt, and then just a straight hole thru the Delrin bushing insert on the cable...

the shift linkage bushing can be pushed out if you come at it from behind, i find it easier to use a screwdriver or something

It snaps on like at the shifter side...a ball and socket setup (usually why they sometimes pop off when abused)...

I'm gonna use large washers/shims on either side of the bushing to keep it in place...
