9.1mm cubed and the hole is 9/32 (7mm)

There were never any Getrag parts you could buy except for the clutch and shaft seals.

mostly true...
i once found a rebuilt kit for the getrag. but it was through some company in Europe that refuses to ship to North America.

because i need an input shaft bearing to complete my second transmission (back-up)

This pisses me off to this day. What are we supposed to do when these things start blowing up? I've already gone through one, and don't really fancy the idea of hunting down another whenever this one decides to give up the ghost.

Just stumbled on this post. My svt had terrible side to side play, going to try and do this tomorrow. Is there anyway I could get to that piece from the bottom of the car? I really don't want to take off the air intake and sensor.

Bottom? It's not that hard to remove it from the top... But you do gotta pull the intake...
I'd think it would be next to impossible from the bottom.
