2004 2.3 liter rod bearing cap torque specs.

Which rods? There isn't a torque rating provided by Ford because its machine done, so you have to go by the torque specifications from your connecting rod manufacturer.

had to replace three rod bearings upper and lower. only need torque specs for rod bearings and i can put this car back together and get her on the road.

The focus shop manual has no specs for this but the 01+ ranger 2.3 duratec shop manual has these specs. The are the same rods so this will be correct.



Specs are as follows

Step 1 - Torque nuts to 26 ft lbs.
Step 2 - Tighten nuts an additional 90 degrees.

Plastigauge tells you bearing oil clearance, not whether or not the rod nuts are torque sufficiently.
