Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 Synthetic...I'm Castrol guy :)

Oil Change time for the SVT and ZX3. Castrol Syntec not on sale nor is the Royal Purple (2nd choice) and money a little tight, so here are my choices:

5qt of Pennzoil Platinum and Fram Tough Guard Oil Filter $26.99

or

5qt of Mobil 1 Synthetic and Mobil 1 Oil Filter $29.99

Based on price, preference, performance, etc...What would you recommend?

I use 5W30 PP and a Motorcraft filter-$24 at Wallys. bobistheoilguy and Blackstone Labs both love PP oil as much as Mobil 1. The Motorcraft filter is good for 7,500 miles.

Personally I'd use sand before I'd buy Penzoil.

I've run Mobil 1 full syn since new, so for 161,000 miles now. I'm happy with my decision.

I used to use the oil change specials at the auto stores until i found out I can get the motorcraft oil (5W-20) and motocraft filter from walmart for cheaper anyway!

but most people I see on the forum use Mobil 1.

I don't have any problems with the penzoil platinum....

I just wouldn't get that combo because of the fram filter.
