Unhappy Car cut off on me this morning

It's 3 weeks old today, 1500 miles, no mods what-so-ever... So the thoughts of CAI or other mods causing this will hopefully be put to rest. I've done nothing to it yet but drive it, besides the flash the day after I bought the car.

I was in the turn lane, looking for a hole in the morning traffic so I could shoot into the parking lot at work. Had driven up the interstate for about 20 minutes, so it was at normal temps and all. I crossed two lanes and hit the brakes to avoid scrubbing the nose of the car pulling into the parking lot, and it died just as I pushed in the clutch and hit the brakes. Luckily I didn't panic, and luckily it fired right back up, or I would have been t-boned in a few more seconds.

It's the only time it has done it, but that was more than I needed. That could be dangerous in the wrong situation, like today. When it restarted, it acted like it hadn't run all morning. High-idle kicked in for a few secs before slowing to normal, and the doorlocks clicked, even though I had not turned it completely to "off" before cranking it... hell I didn't have time! The instrument cluster lit up like it had been turned off, I wonder if this isn't some kind of short somewhere.

I'm going to call SVT in a few minutes, see what they say about it.

Jason

UPDATE - Ok... called SVT, he said they were aware of this, and they have a new ECM update already being tested by the EPA to fix this. He said it can happen under quick deceleration, and the new update should be released from the gov. in about 2 weeks. Nice fellow.

Uhhg... the EPA...

This is really great news, the YRF0 has been causing me problems from the get go. My car has stalled a total of 4 times in 3 weeks since the new reflash, all of them in traffic. I hope Ford gets a clue and comes out with a reflash that will help take away all the problems and not add anymore.
