Which would be the preferred size?

215/40, 215/45, or 225/45?

17's ?? 215-40-17 works pretty well
225-45-17 will probably rub most likely
i prefer a 215-45-16 , 205-50-15, and i would't mind trying a 225-45-15

gotta sort out a 351w 4 door fox first, then the focus gets a 2.5
commuting with a v6 5 speed mazda 6 wagon.

what suspension are you on?^^

i'm looking at 225/50/16 pretty good options there. anyone tried that size on the course?

What ever you do dont get 225/50s mine rub so hard in auto cross im buying a set of 16s and im prolly gonna put 225/45s on those but idk if they will rub or not. any ideas or anyone use those on track
