Speaker fitting for rear speakers?

So I'm going to install new front speakers today, and I might get new rear speakers when I get my tax return. I've been using Crutchfield's "outfit my car" tool, and I've come across an interesting issue. What do they take into account besides speaker size and top mount depth for determining a speaker's fitment? According to them, one set of 6x8 speakers with a 2 1/2" top mounting depth will fit, but another set with a 1 3/4" will not. Any ideas? Also, it says one pair of speakers fits the front door, but not the rear seat side panels, whereas there are other speakers that fit both.

its because it wont fit in your front door due to clearance of the window.

thats why itll fit in the rear and not the front..

you may have to pick them weird on that site. id personally go with a 6x8 that has a satellite tweeter

Please read more carefully. It says they fit the front, but not the back. I know that it has to clear the window on the front doors.
