I've have pretty good luck with used tires. But by using used tires I found a tire that I liked so I went out and bought some brand new. I need tires now but I'm just going to throw the SVT's on my car since it has practically brand new tires on it.

I use these too. Good price for a great tire. I don't have any complaints about them, and I don't see myself getting anything different when I need to replace them.

I like my Kuhmos... they were a great deal..and you get a great tire... It can hold the corners pretty well.. if you know what i mean

Ray and Izzy, thank you for the invite yesterday. I have never been to an autoX event. I think I have found my new sport. I did not know how cheap this could be or that you can even use a STOCK car. I also had my little co-driver (3 year old son) who was very mad when we left because he wanted to race!

This is what I do, or did for a living. I was a manager for Goodyear for 8 years. Sumitomo and Kumho are at the bottom end of the spectrum on quality. Thery are okay when they are new but are a harder compound ans are not that good in wet weather. If you are using them for track only then wet weather does not really matter. What type of driving are the new tires needed for. I can help point you in the direction of a less expensive quality tire.

Yessir Autox can be a relatively cheap hobie:
$30 a month for a Regional event
$500 a year+ in a good set of street tires (right Ray? LoL)

as for tires.. I went thru 2 sets of Khumos in less than 8 months when I had my SE-R. After that I've had Toyo Proxes4 wich gave me 4 months in the Eclipse, I bought 2 used Nexen which handled like shyt! replaced those with 2 Goodyears in the front and they brake loose every time I step on it.. I would never buy Sumitomo.. khumo - maybe.. My next set of tires that will go in the Miata will be Falken.. when I bought the car they were new and handled half a season of Autox and a full year daily driven.. till I had a flat in LCR. The 2 I have left still have life in them.

Well i added a few more tools to my colection, got me a brraker bar and a better wrench and also got a tool bag so my tools arent spread all over the place. Next on the list is a torque wrench and some extensions and more sockets.
