^^ So ... did you finish sanding?

Only sucks if you are doing it by hand.

so i thought some of you might appreciate this. for my online biology class we had to write how we use the scientific method to solve an every day problem. here is what i submitted, copy and pasted straight from the discussion.

Personal Application:

Thought not an every day occurrence, the diagnosis of a mysterious noise in the engine bay of my vehicle caused a lot of headache and trial-and-error fixes.

Observation - After installing an aftermarket intake in my vehicle, I would experience a faint rattling noise somewhere in the engine bay as I drive. The noise only occurs when I step on the gas, and gradually goes away as I accelerate.
Question - What is causing this noise and how do I fix it?
Hypothesis - Because the noise began after the installation of an intake, it is assumed that this noise is in some way related to that component of the engine. The noise is likely due to some part not being tightened enough or installed correctly.
Test - Uninstall and re-install the same part, being sure to properly fit and tighten all hoses and clamps. Once installation is complete, run the vehicle in the same conditions which produced the noise listed above.
Result - Noise continues.

Revised Hypothesis - The physical shape of the filter brings its metal edge very close to the inside fender. This reduced clearance causes the filter to knock against the fender as the filter moves during the intake of air.
Test - Replace the filter with a smaller filter, allowing more clearance. Again, run the vehicle in the same conditions which produce the noise.
Result - There are no longer any mysterious noises emitting from the engine.

A celebration was in order:
Observation - My group of friends follow my car's performance closely and are concerned when trouble arises.
Question - Will they be interested in celebrating with me upon learning of my remedied problem?
Hypothesis - Yes.
Testing - Call and ask.
Result - Partying ensued.
