Finally got some pics uploaded.

The clutch disc or what I should say half of it.

There was so much tranny fluid on the clutch that it was literately pouring out fluid still when I separated the tranny from the motor making for a such a mess, full of fluid and fluid soaked clutch material

To give you an idea of how much fluid was on the clutch here is the pressure plate and you can clearly see where I wiped my finger.

So after all that and the whole ordeal with the rear main seal I still can't drive. Just not enough time to put it all back together. I have to work the next 3 days and have a family wedding to attend to so hopefully I'll get everything back together on Sunday. All that's left is to put the rest of the bolts in the bell housing, throw the subframe and front sway bar on, bleed the power steering, and then start her up. I still have yet to do the suspension and timing belt. Just not enough time to steady work on it with all the little problems and the family to just do it. If I didn't replace the rear main seal it would be all back together already. Had I'd known I had to drop the oil pan to replace it then I would have just took the chance with the old one in there. Dropping the pan and having to get the associated gaskets and oil pick up tube gasket set me back a whole day and a half. On the bright side the tranny looks real good all prettied up with some engine paint. I went with "cast aluminum silver" since it is after all a cast aluminum trans lol. I wasn't going for some fancy color or anything just something factory looking. Here are some pics of that. Oh I should have waited till the next day to paint since the trans was still wet from the degreasing, though I tried my best to air dry it with my air compressor the paint ended up peeling so I had to throw another few coats on it again. Sucks too but since I used most of the paint on the first initial painting of it but it still came out pretty good IMO.

I have a few more pics, I need to make a new thread or update the old SVT rebuild thread but I haven't decided yet. I just hope the damn thing doesn't leak motor oil from all the seals and stuff I replaced. It was such a pain and time consuming after realizing that I had to drop the pan to put the rear main seal on.

Oh and this is the best 60 something bucks I've ever spent on this Tranny jack from Harbor Freight, seriously.

It made dropping the trans so easy. It was still a pain trying to stab the tranny into the clutch but that's always the worse part of dropping a trans for me.

You know what the worse of I should say ironic thing about this clutch failure is?

The failure was cause by the only new part I put on the SVT when rebuilding it. It wasn't the used clutch, but the brand new Slave cylinder/ throw out bearing that brought it down. Ain't that some poo or what. Rockauto sent me the wrong part. The 5 speed slave is exactly identical to the 6 speed with the only difference being the inside gasket bore being .2" smaller on the 6 speed

I put them side by side and measured and compared them.

Really sucks that this is what brought it down and not the used clutch, which would have lasted a long time too had it not been for the fluid dripping onto it constantly..
