Alright, yeah, I might just go ahead and do that myself too. It's just hard to find time. This is my first weekend in I don't know how long. But my mechanic was gonna charge me 140 for parts and labor. Didn't seem too much.

Well the part itself is like $110..and I'd have to order it and wait for it to come in, then wait till a free weekend to actually do it..or I could pay 30 extra and have someone do it for me in a day. I mean is 30 dollars really too much of a price to pay for that much time saved?

Yes that's too much. It's also only 25 bucks for the poly inserts to replace the worn out bushings in the stock mount. Also what brand is the mechanic going to use? If it's not OEM it's going to be crap, at least for the mounts anyways. One of us could help you replace the poly mounts. Heck it shouldn't take me long to knock em out and push the new ones in if no one else wants to help you. I'll take 25 bucks vs 140 bucks any day of the week. Then you could put the money into buying a t-belt kit for 70 bucks off of Rockauto.com and get that fixed as well. Your literally throwing money away that could easily be saved and put towards something else.

He was gonna use the Motorcraft one. The guy doesn't ever want to use anything not OEM. And I'm still not gonna do the timing belt myself. That's too much for me. I think I just found a dogbone on Autozone for like 25..

That one at autozone will be junk. I'm talking about replacing the rubber part of the mount with a poly mount inserts, they last longer, and help with the shifting. Justin or Travis could order the OEM mount and get you discount, probably way cheaper than what your mechanic can get. We could help you with the t-belt but that's up to you.

Well here is an option, I could get this:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...1_412899_6162_
AND the poly inserts:
http://www.fswerks.com/collections/e...unt-ford-focus
and end up replacing the whole thing for around $50 with brand new parts?

By all means if you guys want to have some sort of timing belt replacement meet, I'll do that, but I'm not attempting it by myself. I mean I wanna learn, just from people, not the internet. Plus I need someone there to correct me when I'm screwing up.

If your going to get the poly bushing I highly recommend getting the Energy Suspension ones instead of the Prothane ones that you linked to. You can order them directly from Energy Suspension for 24 bucks shipped. They have a lip that will keep the bushings from slipping out. I've have used both and I hands down like the ES ones. I've ripped right through the Prothane one and I've had them also slip out as well. The first ES one I had lasted 6 yrs, the prothane ripped in less than a year and the other one I had on the SVT was slipping out. I have pics but can't post them due to me being at working right now. Stay away from the autozone one.

This one and keep the stock mount then? Simply replace the bushings. Should I replace my other motor mount while replacing the t-belt? Looks like you have to take it off anyways.

That's the one and yes you keep the stock mount you have now but knock out the rubber bushings and just push these in. I have pics of this process but can't post them right now.

Here is the link to my SVT rebuild thread, I think I have pics of the Prothane mount in there somewhere.
