yeah, if its broken, it will be the plastic "wheel" on the inside. once you open it, you will know..

it may rattle some when you move the "box" but that could just be the gears and cable moving.. so if you hold the cable taught and kinda shake it softly, you shouldn't really hear much of anything.

to remove the clip from the intake manifold (near the throttle body), it can be a pain in the ass.. DO NOT FORCE IT.. YOU WILL BRAKE IT IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.
the roundish end of the cable slides over a post

it comes off in a flat motion. do not try to go at any angle with this.

*found this using google*

the how to on here is really great for this..

how to

and how much time... maybe 2 hours tops just to figure out where everything is and how to remove it and whatnot.
maybe more if you have never picked up a tool...
less if you are mechanically inclined.

Gosh I'm not looking forward to this..lol. It's not that I'm not mechanically inclined, just never learned how to do anything. I don't think I've looked under the hood of a car till I turned 17 when I got my first car..

it really isnt that bad. just seems like it i swear..
the actual labor part is really easy.
the hardest part is getting the cable off that post and out of the holder.

remove Driverside headlight (3 bolts if all tabs are still present)
jack up car
remove cable from post and holder.
get under car.
undo 3 (or 4) bolts holding in imrc module

get out from under car.
unscrew cover on imrc
open up
clean contacts (some people de-solder the connections. i just moved them slightly and got sandpaper on the tip of a long, thing flat head screwdriver)
sand those connections to make them shiny again
spread rtv on edge of cover panel.
screw back together
put back on car, routing the cable thru the right opening in frame rail (that you took it out of)
bolt in place.
reconnect the clip on the post.
pop cable back in place.

done...

you could maybe be done in an hour or less...
but i always plan longer just in case you run into a snag.

Alright. Well I will give it my best shot. If I'm not at Main Event on Sunday, something exploded and I'm dead.

Well it looks like I may not be able to get a light wieght flywheel for the SVT. Findanza doesn't make it anymore and has no ETA, I was going to try the Ralco brand one and be a guinea pig but that's also a 4-8week wait for it to be made. My next hope is if the Clutchmaster flywheel will mate up with the stock clutch or get the whole. Really sucks cause I been waiting so long to get a clutch and now I have to wait even longer. I should have probably just ordered the whole Luk clutch kit, cause then I'd probably just have it together after finding out that I can't get the other flywheels. Just a few years ago there were numerous choices for clutches for the SVT, now we're down to only a few.

Well, we are over the 10 year marker for the SVT. Wow, I have owned my car for 10years now ... well, 9 years and 2 months. I bought my SVT Focus brand new in Dallas TX in December 2003. Man.
