Yeah, lucky catch on the belt. It was ruined.

Thinking of getting a Jeep Comanche. As a daily, go getter

had another 8 hour long date with my SVT again... wish I knew who 'fixed' the lower rear control arm before I bought this car. I'd love to tell that person how much I hate him .... <crybabyface>

Remember how I mentioned that I can't separate LCA from trailing arm cause the bolt is stuck in bushing ? .... well today I decided to just drop em together, and then I found out that bolt at LCA<to>Subframe is jammed the same way.... what da f......... ?! it looks like someone put JB weld on the bolt before screwing it through the bushing and it basically means I can't separate LCA from subframe neither trailing arm.

That kinda explains why the ride didn't feel 'right' .... and all the squeeking sounds - as LCA couldn't move as it should and was eating out rubber

so... now I need to drop the rear subframe, help me out here:

- what is this black, rectangular plastic box that hangs on rear subframe sitting just behind fuel tank?

- what else will fall down when I remove subframe?

- any safety advices before I jump on it?

oh, and.... does one need to drop the subframe in order to drop tank for fuel pump replacement? (just thinking if it's true I could do it now so I don't have to dig in there later)

Never dropped the rear sub frame before though I've heard of people doing it to get a rear sway bar bracket with holes in it before. I can't imagine it being too hard. The black box is for emission reasons I believe something to do with the evap and the gas fumes or something like that?
