car goes thunk thunk thunk thunk while driving
ok i was driving today and lately its had a wheel bearing noise, kinda disappears on a left turn, but audible hum driving straight/turning right.

anyway, i heard a THunk, and was like wtf?! I kept driving and heard a series of 3 thunk thunk thunk. and now with my car in neutral i can wiggle my front drivers rim. while its on the snow/ground. none of the other rims do this.

please suspension gods just tell me its an end link or something cheap haha.

what should i look for? im about to jack the car up

Yeah jack it up, and try moving the wheel side to side, and pushing in and out from the top/bottom. Try rotating the wheel, and of course visually check for anything broken. Hopefully it was just an end-link. Have you replaced the fronts before?

ok this is weird. i jacked the car up. seemed it took longer to get the front driver tire off the ground [where i was jacking at] and then i tried to wiggle the tire side to side pulling toward me, and i was able to a little bit. but top to bottom wiggling didnt do anything. maybe it was teh snow i was on. i went on garage floor and it didnt afterwards.

but.. when i did jack the car up, i was able to pull the tire downwards towards the ground. as if i had lowered the jack. i hope that describes it clearly. but that would make me think shocks? or anything that would support or connect to? i know nothing about suspensions, and while i wait for a reply ill check that link

also i have never done the fronts. i bought the car around 80k and i have 97k on it now. all i know is it needs a timing belt and clutch master cylinder replaced soon haha.

Check the bottom of strut near in pinch bolt maybe ? I had my drivers side pop out before when the bolt snapped. No clue how it happened, but it did.

that would not cause the thump it sounds like a wheel bearing, but could be a tie rod.

broken tie rods are easy to find

Pull the front wheel off... Front strut is broke.

my car clunks when i go over speed bumps and stuff like that i think it was a big problem on my car anyways no harm no foul probly just a worn part
