i use mobil 1 5w30 and whatever the cheapest filter is usually bosch

you are going to get a million different opinions on what oil and filter to use. so long as you use 5w-20 (what the FACTORY calls for) and change oil and filter every 3000-4000 miles you are golden. however dont EVER put generic brand tranny fluid into your transmission. ford honey is all i know and all ive ever had and your tranny wont like it if you put the wrong fluid in there. the only drawback is that ford honey is very expensive and you have to buy 3 quarts. the mtx takes 2.1 quarts. im not entirely certain about the getrag transmission that comes in the SVT.

my car has a little over 45k. everyone here is posting info about their svt right? So if I use 5w-20 it does not really matter and the filter(napa gold 1315) that was given to me by napa staff is ok to use?

whoops 5w-30 is correct for svt. spi and zetec take 5w-20

thats weird because ford recommend 5w 30 for zetecs in the uk. i would use 5w30 all the way, dont listen to anyone else.
