I have this issue when logging on my 05 Duratec. I assume this is some sort of Binary Floating Point math issue.

It only seems to show up once or twice in a trace, but it maxes out the graph, due to the automatic scaling so all the correct values in the trace just appear as a flatline, rendering the spark graphs useless.

If you can't find/fix the problem at it's source could you limit the max spark value in the graph to something like 60?

This way the occasional spurious spike will just peg off the chart, but the remainder of the trace would remain valuable....

The ones with [1] next to it are bank 2 due to the fact that there is a [0] item which is bank 1. Strange yes but we did not make those names, Ford did.
That's typical in software/programing. The fuel trim data is being held in an array, and C & C++ typically uses 0 to represent the first item in an array.

I was correcting myself. i tried logging tonight, and had a few issues. i am using livelink 6.1 with my SVTF. If I understand right SHFT or SHFT0 should be bank 1. But nothing reads on those selections. i also had some freeze ups, which i cant tell if its my car or livelink. My IC goes dead at random sometimes, and i dont know why yet.

What device are you using: XCal3
Year/make/model and strategy of vehicle you are logging: 2003 Focus ZTS with Tom's F/I Tune
Device Updater: 2.3
What is the firmware revision on it: Just downloaded 1.2.118-3000
What version of Livelink are you using: Just downloaded version 6.1
What operating system is on your computer: Windows 7

Somewhere along the process of updating my SCT device updater, firmware, and Livelink, my handheld went completely blank. It’s lit up, almost like it’s in “Firmware Mode,” but it’s otherwise blank. When I try to do anything with it through any of the programs, I get a “Failed to Write” or “USB Device Not Recognized” error. I think it’s a driver issue but I can’t seem to fix it manually.

Per the directions, I returned vehicle to stock so as to do the updating. I don’t want to drive the car with the stock tune, though, given my F/I. And Tom’s asked me to send him a datalog because of some other issues I’m having. So, I need some help.

Anyone got any ideas?

Tom

^^^ This was what me and tom were having issues with... He managed to get my idle tune and driveability tune (No boost) just fine but it was still a headache for him.

When I get the money to start finishing my tuning I'm going to try this older version with him to see if this helps out.

Fixed by uninstalling all programs (Updater, firmware, and LiveLink) and re-installing same.

This is a livelink thread and has nothing to do with updater. These are 2 completely different programs that do completely different things.
