Nice I'll keep an ear out for such a squeak.
There's a similar thing with my Crown Vic. When going over bumps and stuff the front end makes a squeaking noise like bad suspension parts but it's really the hood latch. Grease the hood latch and noise is gone. It's probably some sick joke Ford thought of to put a squeak in every car in a random spot that noone would suspect and drive the owner insane

I just bought a 07 Focus and when I was test driving It I was hearing a squeak over bumps too. When I mention this to the salesman, they took it in for service to get it checked out...When the salesman call me back and told me it was the e brake cable I thought they were full of it...After retest driving the car the squeak was gone.

nope, they were telling you the truth. the brake cable causes this noise, just depends on if you find the right spot. i am certain that this is the right spot.

Simply putting grease on both e-cables where they go through the loops.....totally fixed my rear squeak problem.
If a new squeak develops, I'll check that clamp for sure.

yeah, did for me at first too. the reason that works is b/c it keeps the cable a bit 'tighter' if you are using the thick stuff. so, it doesn't move as much at the clamp points. if you keep it tight, it may not move at the clamp. mine came back after the grease deteriorated.
