Posted via FF Mobile Performance focus is global it's been confirmed by multiple sources at Ford. Not to much info but illy have the 2.0l turbo pushing more then 250hp. What it'll be called no one knows. Should be out or at least we should have much more info within the next year. My opinion is this will be the midrange performance model like an ST. In Europe it'll probably be called ST and here it'll probably be called SVT. Then in a couple of years well probably see the next global RS which is rumored to be awd with a gas engine powering the front wheels and an electric motor powering the rear.

almost looks like a crossover! I dunno, looks like visibility will be as crappy as a stupid Tc. I hate how all the newer cars are starting to blend together.

Meant for the supermarket, not the track
It is too pretty for the track. It looks like more of a luxury type, not sporty. Form over function. I would laugh if I saw one at a track.

What I want is totaly different thing. High rev naturally aspirated engine.
Turbo engines like new Ecoboost are, I'm shure, awesome -it's just that I like different kind of engines.

Anyway I wanted to say this. New Opel Astra costs in croatia 15500 euros which is same as old model so new Focus will cost 14500-15000 euros.
I'm 95% shure!!!
Iwas told today that 2012 European Focus prices will not change, but of course if one wants high trim level with the new features top price line will be higher then todays Focus.

Also heard that North American MKI Focus ends its production life November 2010 at Wayne Assembly (Michigan). Which is next door to the new Michigan Assembly Plant, home of the 2012 Focus.
So for N.A. MY2011 Focus will have a short production run which starts June 28, only 5 month run.

I have a cousin who is a supplier to the 2012 North American Focus and he said full run production begins in January 2011.

Limited start up for the 2012 Focus begins August 2010 at the new Michigan Assembly Plant, what this means is machine set ups, testing and try outs, and work out the bugs.
In other words get things running 100% for top notch full speed production with no hiccups for January 2011.

Michigan Assembly Plant used to be called Michigan Truck Plant
FACT SHEET: MICHIGAN ASSEMBLY PLANTPlant Information

Plant name: Michigan Assembly Plant
Location: Wayne, Mich.
Employment:
Wayne Assembly Plant: Hourly – 1,910; Salaried – 100
Wayne Integrated Stamping: Hourly – 1,270; Salaried – 55
Products: All-new Focus (2010), Battery-electric Focus (2011)
Year opened: 1957
Site size in acres: 140
Plant size in square feet: 2,866,000
Product history: Station wagon bodies for Wayne Assembly Plant; Ford Bronco, Ford F-Series, Ford Expedition and Lincoln

All I have heard from my Ford Europe sources is that the dealership network want the new Focus yesterday and are pushing for September production, but all I know is that Ford HQ wants production to begin for both Europe & N.A. at the same time.

I am sure everyone wants this one sooner. The reason is the current one cannot sell easily in the US. I stopped in the Ford dealership near my house because they had $5000 off on the 2010 Focus. It rides nice, but it looks like crap. Now that the 2012 cat is out of the bag, I see people waiting for it. The sad thing is the dealers are saying it also. I know one of the sales guys as the dealership. He says if you are in the market for the current Focus, just hold out a few months. They will have to give them away.

Yah! Trade-in value on them should be on par with Toyotas, too!

I'd hold-out (if inclined to get a 2010) for a loaded one.

Something-for-nothing, you know?

Dealers will want the present Focus for trade-in, much like they want a leperous skunk...

It sounds like we will be getting the same performance versions as the rest of the world, but they may not be badged "ST" or "RS" or whatever.

I don't care what they call it. As long as it's the same as the RS they get in Europe, they can call it the "Super Gay Unicorn Rainbow Lollipop Gumdrop Car " and I'd still drive it.
